Tiada lagi alasan dolak-dalik'

Sekian, pendapat saya.

'Bukan masa dabik dada'

Artikel dari Berita Harian, Rabu, 24 September 2008

Adakah anda sukakan sukan gimnastik??

Sekian, pendapat saya.

MSN amal sikap 'kedekut' agih bantuan

Sekian, pendapat saya.

Sokong Atlit Paralimpik Kita : Jeanne

Sekian, pendapat saya.

"Semua jurulatih perlu dipantau"

Sekian pendapat saya.

Olympics: Cyclists may train in London to prepare for 2012 Games

Article from The Star August 29,2008

Based on observation from The Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) to our cyclist at Beijing Olympic Games 2008, our cyclist has a bright future to win for next 2012 Games in London. I am very agreed and support the MNCF that they take alternative to have a training base overseas in their programme for the 2012 London Olympics Games.

And I also agreed with Deputy President MNCF that they want to switch of venue and exposure the athlete to the competitions in Europe and for training and learn more to strengthen Malaysia’s preparation for the London Games. I suggest that other athletes also take this opportunity to have training in Europe because this can exposure the athletes with the culture, strengthen and exposure the competition in Europe and exchange opinion about any sports.

Do you know our National track riders? Maybe some of you do not know so, here I would like to share their names. There were four people who involved in previous Beijing Olympics Games 2008 which are Azizulhasni Awang, Josiah Ng, Mohd Edrus Yunus and Mohd Rizal Tisin. In my opinion I can say that among of four of them, only Azizulhasni has a big potential. It can see when Azizul was competing with Chris Hoy from Britain, the gap between Azizul and Chris only quarter. I am very impress with him because he success to qualify for next Games in London.

Anyway I am very proud with his achievement because Azizul is still young and did quite well in his first Olympics. He will be better with more exposure. MNCF are also very pleased with their contributions in helping groom talent for our country. They hope to see more new faces.

I would like to wish congratulation to Azizulhasni and other athlete who are doing well in previous Olympics Games Beijing 2008. All the best for Malaysian athletes...

She is an Olympic gold medalist swimmer from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia who holds the world record in the 200m and 400m individual medley as of August 10, 2008. She was born on 17 June 1988 in Queensland, Australia.

For you information, Stephanie was the gold medalist in the 200 m individual medley at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia where she defeated Olympians Brooke Hanson and Lara Carroll to claim the gold medal in the event in a time of 2:12:90, a personal best by 1.19 sec. She also won the 400 m individual medley. At the 2007 Melbourne World Championships she won a bronze medal in the 200 m individual medley in a time of 2 min 11.42 seconds, breaking the previous Australian records by a second. American Katie Hoff won the gold medal in 2:10:13, with Kirsty Coventry of Zimbabwe in second place. Rice once again placed third, earning her second bronze medal in the 400m individual medley final. In a new personal best time Rice finished in 4:41.19, taking .54 sec off her previous best.

Rice continued her strong performance, setting a new personal best time in the 400m individual medley at an Italian meet in June 2007. Rice went a 4:40.79, edging closer to the elusive 4:40 barrier in the event. At the 2007 Japanese Open Championships, Rice smashed her personal best time in the 400m individual medley and finally cracked the 4:40 barrier. Rice stopped the clock at 4 minutes 31.46 seconds, 1.43 seconds off American Katie Hoff’s mark of 4:32.89. On June 29, 2008, at the U.S. Olympic Trials, Hoff retook the world record from Rice with a time of 4:31.12. Rice claimed her second world record of the meet, when she broke the 200 m individual medley world record, clocking 2 minutes 8.92 seconds to slash almost a full second off the previous record held by China's Wu Yanyan.

I can say that I was very impressed with her performance and I wish her good luck for her future in her career. I am really hoped that Malaysia also can bear a swimmer like her. She can be a role model to young people who like to be a swimmer. The important thing is we have had a spirit to be a success person in whatever field we involved.

Yelena As Good As Gold

Article from New Straits Times, Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Before this, I already talk about local athletes, but now I will talk about international athlete which is Yelena Isinbayeva, a Russian Pole Vault. For World and Olympic Pole Vault Campion Yelena Isinbayeva has been so dominant over the last four years. For her, winning gold in Beijing may just be formality for her. Yelena is one of the athletes that will be competing in Beijing Olympic Games 2008. She wanted to prove to all that she still good in this sport. She still has the same hunger for success that drives him to be the best she can do it.

Maybe none of you familiar with this athlete, so here I will talk a little bit about her biography. Yelena Isinbayena was born on Jun 3, 1982, in Volgograd Russia. She is 26 years old. As a young child, Yelena took up gymnastics when she was 5 years old, and continued until she was 15, when she reached 5’8 ½, she was deemed too tall to compete in the sport.

In November 1997, she took up pole vaulting. In 1999, she competed at the World Youth Games in Poland and won the gold medal. She went on to compete at the European Junior Championship in 2001 and won yet gold. Over the next few years, she continued to improve and in the 2004 Athens Olympics, she took the gold. She set a world outdoor record on August 12, 2005 of 5.01 m (16 feet 5 ¼ inches), only to beat it yesterday at 5.03 m (16 feet 6 inches). Yelena became the first women to break the five metre barrier in July 2005 before vaulting 5.01 at the World Championship in Helsinki the following month. She has stated her desire to surpass Bubka’s tally of 35 world record. Bubka is also an athlete of pole vault from Ukrain.

I am very impress with her, a Russian woman who is confidence to winning gold in Beijing. She believes that if she do the best, it’s impossible to beat her. She told press that she tends to use her first vault to warm up, the second to clinch victory and the third to attempt a world record. So, I think that all my information that I want to share with all of you. I wish good luck to Yelena. All the best for you.

As we all know that there is not many Malaysian people involve with this sport. I think maybe there is a reason for that. So, what do you think my friends? Do you have any view about why not many Malaysian people like to involve with this sports? For me, I suggest that we can do something which is we can encourage young people involve with pole vault since they are young or since they in a primary school.

Thank you.

World No. 1 Squash Player – Datuk Nicol David

Today, i want to talk about the world number one women's squash player, Datuk Nicol Ann David. She is a Malaysian professional squash player. She is currently the World No. 1 in women's squash (she is the first Asian woman to be ranked World No. 1 in the sport). She captured the World Open title in 2005 and 2006, and the British Open title in 2005, 2006 and 2008. Her first international win was at Hong Kong Under-13 category. Soon, Datuk Nicol began climbing her way up conquering the challenges in the Asian level and world championship.
On July 12, 2008, all Malaysian known that squash queen Nicol Ann David was among 497 to be honoured in conjunction with the 70th birthday of the Penang Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas. The Penang-born Nicol, who at the time is the World No. 1 squash player, is among 28 people who will receive the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN) which carries the title "Datuk". It will make her the youngest person in Penang to be conferred Datukship. Datuk Nicol was born Nicol Ann David on 26 August 1983 in Penang. She is a daughter to Desmond David, an engineer and Ann Marie David, a retired teacher. She received her primary education at SM Convent, Penang.
I can say that I’m very proud with her achievement in squash sports. If I’m not mistaken, her first encounter with squash began at a tender age of 5, and at the age of 8 she started to take squash seriously with regular training and involved in competitive games. As we all known that being the current World Champion and World No. 1, she is the role model to many Malaysians being someone that achieved huge success in studies, sports and great relationships with family and friends. I’ m very impress with her academic achievement. Her success in squash did not prevent Datuk Nicol to record impressive and outstanding academic achievement. She scored 8A’s in the Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) and 9A’s in Sijil Pelajaran Menengah (SPM).
In my opinion, we should encourage a young people to be active in sports early age of secondary school. I can see that nowadays not many young people like squash. This sport is not very popular among the youngest. Maybe it is because of not many facilities like squash court and the racket itself quiet expensive. Besides that, limited squash court also can be reason why the young people do not like this sport.
I suggest that government and private sector should play an important role and they should have alternative to provide as much as they can to build squash court or any facilities related to this sport. So that, many youth have opportunity to play and training squash. Beside that, support from family also important to encourage their children to be active in this sport. For me, Datuk Nicol was a living legend who proves that we can be success in both sport and education field. Malaysia Boleh!
